How is Ocean Plastic defined?

Ocean Bound Plastic is plastic waste that washes up on the beach or is collected within a 10 km radius of the coast and then recycled. The collection is carried out by local communities and local fishermen. A high importance is attached to fair payment. The material is sorted according to type (PET, polypropylene and polyethylene), cleaned and recycled. The supplier has developed a process for the recycling: at the end there is a high-quality material that can be used for injection moulding.

Our material supplier of the Ocean Bound Plastic is audited according to Global Recycle Standard (GRS), Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) & Ocean Bound Plastic Certification (OBP), by Zero Plastic Oceans (ZPO)
